Now this was a fun project. We took a post war home that was purchased out of the estate of the original owner of the property. We converted one of the two garages to a game/ entertainment room, and redesigned the original structure to incorporate an open great room feel, modern appointments including a sub zero fridge, fisher paykel double drawer dishwasher, butcher block countertops, bamboo floors, vintage brick veneer around the fireplace, a full master suite complete with walk in closet, bath and backyard access. We also restored the exterior of the home back to it’s original post war style, added a tasteful landing and porch around the front entrance from which the owner looks directly over Encanto Park. This home was featured on the Everything Arizona show on the local channel 11 Phoenix Station which can be seen at http://phoenix.gov/citygovernment/phx11/programming/everythingphx/index.html. click on the with window that says ‘The Little House on Holly.’ Enjoy!

Inspirations and Thank You’s

A common thread I have identified across my client spectrum is the inspiration many people find shortly after watching some of their favorite shows and designers on the DIY, Bravo and HGTV networks.

A sincere thank you to the designers of shows such as Jeff Lewis and Candice Olsen. You provide inspiration for my clients and for myself. I plagiarize your work every chance I get:)

Columbus

This was my first foray back into the real estate market after doing very little since 2004. We transformed a single leves 4 bedroom ranch into one with some style that incorporated some modern features and mid century modern design colors and features. Have a look.

La Isla Bonita

On the Bonita Drive project, we purchased a 1962 ranch style Hallcraft home from the estate of the original owners and transformed it into a modern version of itself. We updated the exterior of the home by replacing some of the dated features, such as the eave supports with longer 4×4 posts made of pressure treated wood, we replaced the front door with a solid wood door and enhanced it with the Allendale model exterior door windows provided by Crestview Doors, and replaced the garage door with a simple flat faced model provided by Mastercraft Garage Doors.
We updated the interior by opening up the space to create a large great room, access to the garage from the home and a large master suite complete with a well-appointed and tastefully designed bathroom and walk in closet. The interior flooring is a soft mix of 24 inch ivory travertine tile and 5 inch wide planks of hand-scraped mocha colored oak. The cabinetry is a mix of natural colored maple and stainless steel veneer, capped off with concrete counters. The bathrooms are a mix of rubberwood vanities, modern vessel sinks and porcelain tile made to look like a distressed, grayed wood.
